Shimano tourney upgrade

 So my youngest kid has recently gotten a scott aspect 660 2016.

Nice bike, fabulous paint job and specced just like I like a bike.

Way better frame than components, making the bike worthy of an upgrade.

Now he used to have a bike of the garden gate type. Heavy, slow, porly specced and handling.

The he got this one. Now I know there are better bikes out there, but for a growing 11 y. Old it's a massive upgrade.

Now we have another bike that needs to go out the door. This bike needs a new rear derailleur, and since the Scott is equipped with a Shimano tourney I wanted to upgrade the Scott and trickle the other equipment on to the trek.

But how to upgrade the 7 speed, to something a litte better.

Well, I ended up replacing the rear with a 9 speed alivio shadow profile one.

Seems to work beautifully with the 7 speed tourney front.

Seems like a more precise shifting function. Win win.
